Dudes, do you have like a 'go to' song? Say like you're sitting there with your bass in your hands and you're maybe thinking about something and your hands just start to move, what song comes out? For me it's Smells like teen spirit, I just love the sound of that opening riff on a bass.

I usually end up strumming the main guitar riff of "Smoke on the Water," then I go to the bass part after that.

I always find myself playing Money eventually. If I'm in Drop D tuning, I start with Home by Three Days Grace, and if I'm in C-G-C-F (it's rare but still) I love Chimaira so I play Salvation.

I thought i was just weird for always or often ending op with the same song, nice to learn others do this too.

Eat the Meak by NOFX, lovely reggae song.

Probably because it's the first song I learned to play completely.

I always play a solo from a song I forgot:

EADG tuning, / and \ are slides, ~ means hold the note for a beat

    |--12-10-----10/12----------10----12/15~ ----12\10/12~ --10-7/9-------
    |--------12--------10-11-12-------------------------------------9-----
    |------------------------------10---------------------------------7\5~
    |---------------------------------------------------------------------

The goal is playing the notes evenly and relatively slow, I do it at 115-120 bpm

My fingers instinctively begin to play Stevie Wonder's "I Wish". Or, if I'm in more of a slappin' mood, I'll begin to loop the intro to RHCP's "Higher Ground".
